Membership
Grafill is an interest organisation for everyone who studies or works with visual communication in Norway. Our 1700+ members covers all fields in visual communication, such as graphic design, illustration, animation, motion design, comic books, satirical illustration, service design, digital design, UX-design, interaction design, user experience, and more.
Grafill offers membership options for professionals, students, those working in the branch but are themselves not educated designers, and corporate memberships. Each membership has different requirements that must be fulfilled in order to become a member. Given the nature of our field, there may be some gray area in these requirements. Please get in touch if you are unsure or have any questions - we are here to help!
Membership #
Price:
91kr per month (yearly 1090kr)
Criteria for membership:
- Minimum Bachelors in a relevant field
- or Documentation of minimum three years work experience
- or 2 years Trade school education ("Fagskole") + two years work experience
Student membership #
Price:
33kr per month (yearly 390kr)
Criteria for membership:
- Current study in a relevant field
- Student memberships are also valid until two years after graduation date
Associate membership #
Price:
91kr per month (yearly 1090kr)
Criteria for membership:
Associated membership are for those who work in the branch but are not educated designers themselves. Many of those who work in administration, leadership, authors and copyrighters, publishing, and more benefit from being Grafill members!
Associated memberships are nearly identical to regular memberships, with a few small exceptions (such as the inability to vote during the yearly General Assembly).
Corporate memberships #
Corporate memberships are for design bureaus, design schools, institutions, and other workplaces that wish to offer a Grafill membership as a workplace bonus to their employees.
All employees can become Grafill members, and these memberships do not differ in any way from either a regular or associated membership - the only difference being that all accounting is done in bulk through the company rather than the individual employee.
Free memberships #
Existing members over 67 years old and honorary members are exempt from memberships costs. Grafill memberships will automatically transfer over to free memberships after a member turns 67, as long as the member has been a valid paying member for at least one year prior.

Iwa har ansvar for alt som gjelder medlemskap, medlemsfordeler og utleie av Grafills leilighet. Hun har mange års erfaring innenfor kultursektoren og organisasjonsarbeid, og er utdannet kunsthistoriker med en cand. philol. fra Universitetet i Oslo.
