Exhibition: Reprogramming the City
Reprogramming the City is an experimental and creative approach to sustainable urban development. The concept was developed by American urbanist Scott Burnham. The philosophy behind it is that structures, surfaces, objects and systems in a city can be given new or other tasks and functions.
Time: Friday 1 June: 10.00-16.00, Saturday 2 June: 12.00-16.00, Sunday 3 June: 12.00-16.00
Address: Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA) Hausmanns gate 16, 0182 Oslo
Tickets: No tickets needed
Imagine an old coal bridge as a driving force for the regeneration a harbour area, or an old grain silo rebuilt as a vertical cemetery, herb farms in vacant bomb shelters, or a redundant road tunnel turned into an all year skiing tunnel!
The exhibition is developed in close collaboration between Design and Architecture Norway (DOGA) and Scott Burnham and will include examples of Norwegian and Nordic projects in which existing infrastructure has been used in new ways and, consequently, contributed to a smarter and more sustainable city.
