Licensing and Pricing your Illustration commissions
For new and experienced illustrators this event covers all the essential areas for pricing and licensing illustration, including working out the value of commissions and what you can aim to earn, understanding the Rights in your work, Copyright and Contracts and how to avoid client fee erosion tactics.

Speaker, Derek Brazell, from the UK’s Association of Illustrators will also cover the value of the different areas of illustration commissioning, client negotiation and industry standards. We will draw on examples and share practical tips before leading a Question & Answer session.
About Derek Brazell
Derek is a writer and Projects Manager at the Association of Illustrators, Derek Brazell’s book on business for illustrators, Becoming A Successful Illustrator (2nd edition), was co-authored with Jo Davies. This was the third of their titles to be published by Bloomsbury.
In his role at the AOI he produces Varoom magazine, advises members on contracts and licensing as well as working on the organisation’s campaigning for illustrators’ rights.
As an illustrator, Derek created a string of successful picture books for children, including his first picture book Cleversticks, published in 1992 and still in print, and Lima’s Red Hot Chilli for Mantra Lingua.
