Fed up with buying overpriced, terrible, sketchbooks? Wish you could bind your own collection of drawings, poems, or favorite articles yourself? Fredrik Lloyd is a poet and book binder who loves the -just do it yourself- community, and invites you to this special one-day class.
In this workshop, not only will you make 3 books yourself, but you will also be taught the skills in order to make as many books as you'd like at home. All supplies will be included for making up to 3 books with sketchbook paper and a soft cover.
Fredrik will show you how to glue up basic notebooks in an easy and fun way. He will also go through 2 types of notebook which can be ideal as photo albums or scrapbooks.
About the teacher
Fredrik Lloyd is a published, award winning poet, and has been since the mid 80's. His poetry has gone into space with NASA, been painted onto the floors of the South Bank Centre in London, been put on display in aquariums, and hung as shadows in art galleries. He has collaborated with many installations artists and combines public readings with his form of armchair stand up. Fredrik gives workshops, at the museum of contemporary art in Oslo, and other arts organisations. His subjects include writing, creative thinking, or book binding and book design. Right now, Fredrik is working on a series of paper cut poetry posters and silk screen poetry posters, from a collection he wrote last winter called, "Yourself". See more of his work at: @fredrik.lloyd on instagram.
