Nordic Design Impact Conference
Recently, NDI announced Astrid Skjerven as a key note speaker with her presentation
“Superbrand for Sustainability”. Now the full program is released, with another high-caliber speaker, Satu Miettinen from University of
Lapland. Her speech will focus on “Aesthetics in Service design through Time, Motion and
Physicality”, which discusses service design in the era of strong digitalization and online services.
Further,
the presentation creates an understanding of its context and aspects of service design through
an aesthetic research lens.
Being recognized as an international expert in her area, Satu Miettinen has been working with service design research for several years and has authored a number of books and research publications in this area. Her research is in social and public service development and digital service development. Nordic Design Impact works to develop and strengthen the competences of Nordic small and medium sized design businesses regarding sustainability, aesthetics, and online design visibility.
At the conference design companies, mentors and expert tutors will share their experiences from the project and from their daily work with the three dimensions. The cases presented will be relevant and inspiring for all professional actors in the design field. Besides, the conference facilitates Nordic network with design colleagues. The project is a co-operation between Grafill, Ornamo, Grafia, Sveriges Designer, Svenska Tecknare and Design Denmark, and is funded by KreaNord under the Nordic Council of Ministers.
